Interim Management
What it is and what it is not?

WHAT TRANSITION MANAGEMENT IS NOT

Simply standing in as a deputy
Temporarily filling a vacancy
Holding a permanent management seat
Drafting a consultant's report

WHAT TRANSITION MANAGEMENT IS

Managing the crisis, stabilizing the process
Safeguarding know-how, keeping the team motivated
Handing the incoming leader a safe harbor
Running operations and owning the decisions

Transition management is an active leadership approach that drives continuity, stability and value throughout periods of change.

What are the challenges?

An interim manager rarely steps in within a “comfortable” context. The challenges are most often:

Urgency (financial losses, crisis, key departure)
Fast results (cash, performance, project delivery)
Transformation (organisation, processes, culture)
Stabilising teams
Reducing risks

In short: achieving in a few months what the subsidiary cannot achieve alone with its current skills and experience.

In which contexts?

Crisis situation, financial difficulties, internal disorganisation, turnover or managerial conflict
Urgent replacement, sudden departure of an executive, key position left vacant
Transformation / change, reorganisation, digitalisation and AI, performance improvement, turnaround
Complex projects, industrial launch, merger / acquisition, supply chain redesign

The key criterion: to move fast, decisively, and without error.

When Transition Management?

Unexpected Departure
Resignation, retirement, health, leave.
Crisis Management
Financial, operational, reputational, union conflicts.
Restructuring
Organizational change, structure and functioning review, turnaround.
Merger / Acquisition
Integration, cultural alignment and multi-cultural.

What are
the benefits for companies?

In short, a transition manager is:
